    Position summary:

    This position is responsible for diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance of heavy diesel powered equipment and plant stationary equipment used in a quarry and underground mine. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform Preventative Maintenance and repair on mobile equipment and subsystems, including; engines, transmissions, gearboxes, differnetials, final drives, brakes, heating/cooling and suspension
    • Interpret and understand manufacturer manuals required to accurately and promptly diagnose different systems of heavy mobile equipment
    • Become tasked trained in operating equipment ot check work and deliver/remove equipment as required
    • Cut, weld and fabricate when necessary
    • Perform and retain records on preventative maintenance of equipment
    • Perform general housekeeping of work area
    • Follow safety policies and procedures as written
    • Perform other duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Experience maintaining light to heavy mobile equipment with both gas and diesel engines.
    • Engine diagnostic experience
    • Hydraulic diagnostic experience
    • Commercial Driver’s license
    • Must be safety conscious
    • Able to work at heights of up to 60 feet
    • Ability to document work and materials performed.

     Physical Requirements:

     

    Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, and rain). Noise levels may reach maximum of 95 dba for a period of 8-12 hours a day. Must be able to work in conditions including the following: dust, vibration, heights, mechanical hazards, confined spaces and electrical hazards. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time
