    We are currently seeking a Documentation Specialist, reporting to the Director, Project Management. This role is based out of our Corporate office in Raleigh, NC and will be  responsible for supporting Martin Marietta technical documentation, new product announcements and management/maintenance of the IS knowledgebase.




    • Supports projects and initiatives with technical documentation support, including process flow diagrams, Job Aids (help documentation), training collateral, and SharePoint lists and workflows.
    • Creates department communications and email announcements on important developments (new product launches).
    • Supports Information Services (IS) initiatives with technical specification documentation, installation and configuration guides, and system/application troubleshooting.
    • Provides business-facing support and training documentation for end-users, including training presentations, handbooks, and Job Aids.
    • Manages and maintains the IS Knowledge Base and Document Library, including development of content standards, templates, and document review/archive/expiration workflows.
    • Develops and maintains support documentation for the IS Support organization, including Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting flows and knowledge base articles.
    • Submits applications to various technical societies for annual achievement awards.
    • Collaborates to ensure communication plans and documentation/job aids are aligned.
    • Develops and maintains project compliance documentation, including SOX-related process narratives.
    • Sets direction, process, and standards for documentation; validates that documentation is complete and ready to ensure efficient project management & delivery.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or English
    • Mid-level technical writer (5+ years of experience, preferably within IS/corporate setting)
    • Extensive training/experience in both writing and editing
    • Expert-level knowledge with MS Office Suite (especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Visio)
    • Proven track record of producing high-quality, customer-ready technical content
