    What to expect:


    This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC.  We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Director with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization.  This individual must be able to manage a team of professionals and have the ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team.  Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.


    As a Director, Assistant Corporate Controller, a typical day might include the below:

    1. Overall management of the corporate accounting team.
    2. Overseeing the monthly and quarterly close process, including share-based compensation and earnings per share.
    3. Working with the Financial Compliance team to develop effective accounting policies for the company. Translating those policies into efficient procedures for the company.
    4. Reviewing work performed by team members to ensure accuracy, identify and resolve issues and ensure compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate policies.
    5. Reviewing work performed by team members to ensure accuracy of schedules prepared for inclusion in quarterly and annual financial statements and schedules used in the Company’s public filings and Board of Director materials.
    6. Coaching and developing team members, including establishing annual goals and monitoring progress and achievement of results.
    7. Maintaining the integrity of the internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.
    8. Working closely with internal and external auditors.
    9. Performing ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
    10. Analyzing existing processes and developing improvements to increase efficiencies and reduce manual intervention. Where necessary, working closely with our IT group to automate processes and identify and lead financial software implementations.
    11. Assisting with acquisition integration and purchase accounting activities.
    12. Maintaining the Company’s business unit and chart of account structure.
    13. Communicating with the business regarding process or reporting changes resulting from implementation of new accounting standards.

    This job might be a good fit for you if:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred
    2. Minimum of fifteen years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. Minimum of ten years of experience in supervising and managing a team.
    3. Detailed oriented in execution of work
    4. Experience in the construction or mining industry (or a strong manufacturing background)
    5. CPA required
    6. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and demonstrate a high level of customer service
    7. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal skills) and proven ability to interact with all levels of management throughout the organization
    8. Pragmatic approach to problem solving
    9. Able to lead a diverse team towards common goals
