    The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for managing all safety, operational, financial, environmental and personnel duties for the plant in accordance with company programs, policies, and guidelines as well as government agencies. This position will be responsible for managing all surface quarry activities.

    1. Assist the plant manager with daily and strategic management of plant functions and provide leadership in areas to include: financial, safety, environmental, and personnel.
    2. Responsible for driving location expectations and metrics to include: company assets, budgeting, cost control/savings measures, environmental and personnel functions.
    3. Champion the Martin Marietta safety culture. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, state and Martin Marietta policies.
    4. Provide direction to meet plant safety, quality, production and employee development expectations.
    5. Comply with, maintain and update all local State, Federal and Company environmental regulatory programs, policies and guidelines.
    6. All other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment

    This job operates frequently in a maintenance and outside operations environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. A Bachelor’s of Science Degree or equivalent work experience required.
    2. 3-5 years quarry management experience.
    3. Knowledge of MSHA laws and commitment to safety.
