    Position Summary

     

    San Antonio Area Operations management reporting to the General Manager/Vice President for the South District of the Ready Mix and Cement Division.  Strong commitment to Safety and working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA standards.  Position requires a candidate with various levels of experience and knowledge of Ready Mix operations for residential, medium/large commercial projects along with Texas Department of Transportation projects.  Required to coordinate with District Team Managers; Safety, Dispatch Operations, Area Sales, Technical Services, Fleet Maintenance.  Oversight of plant maintenance personnel.

     

    Requirements

    • Committed to Safety and "Zero incidents in a calendar year.
    • 5-7 years of ready mix plant operations and strong plant maintenance knowledge.
    • Lead a management team in addition to a group of employees and provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision (5-7 Ready Mix plant managers, 70+ Ready Mix Trucks, 120+ employees.)
    • Allocate resources to support assigned Ready Mix plants and maximize their associated operational capabilities.
    • Maintain weekly reports for production inventory, forecasting and management of materiel for immediate and upcoming projects.
    • Effectively communicate financial, asset, budget, cost control, environmental and special projects clearly to subordinates for efficient operations.  
    • Required to assist the District Vice President on business analysis and development of strategic plans for assigned ready mix operations.
    • Focus on subordinate professional development in order to prepare for advancement and increased levels or responsibility.

    Minimum Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Concrete Management, Construction, Engineering or verifiable 10 years of managerial Ready Mix experience preferred.
    • Bilingual capability is desired.
    • Mechanical working knowledge of Ready Mix Plant maintenance and repair.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Safety Priority...working knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and a strong personal commitment to ZERO accidents in a calendar year.
    • Solid understanding of Ready Mix Operations; experience with development of business plan, project distribution scheduling, development of customer relations and support.
    • Coordinate with other ready mix functional areas to provide customer satisfaction with Ready Mix products. (Dispatch, Safety, Sales, Technical Services, Human Resources)
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with mid to senior level company managers and regulatory agency personnel.
    • Proficient in Command, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Kronos Time Keeping and Outlook.
