    POSITION SUMMARY 

    Collect and analyze samples, inspect and manage finish product stockpiles, work with production and load out teams to ensure quality compliance to two sand and gravel plants.  Assist with management of screen media inventory and production records. This is a day shift position, typical schedule will be Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 4:00pm, with anticipated two (2) weekend nights per month.  Schedule may changes depending on need. 

     

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Participate and encourage participation in plant safety program and company safety culture
    • Perform sieve analysis and stockpile inspections daily
    • Perform unit weight, fractured faces, and other tests as required
    • Report results through Quality Control (Q.C.) software and by written correspondence
    • Communicate and work with production team to make plant process corrections to maintain consistent quality of products within TXDOT specifications, and other agencies
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor (Plant Manager or QC Manager)
    • Report directly to District or Division QC Manager.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1-2 years previous job experience in similar industry preferred
    • Valid Texas driver’s license

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Basic computer data input skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
    • Ability to read, understand, and follow test procedures and instructions
    • This position requires basic math skills including working knowledge of percentages, ratios, and statistics
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    Ability to work outdoors, in elevated areas, and lift and carry 50 lb. samples

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty.  Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
