    Position Summary


    Reports to the Regional HR/Safety Manager, and will be working across the Colorado Front Range that will require 80% mobile working conditions. Will require frequent travel throughout the entire front range, and some out of state travel.  This position is required to collaborate with many individuals in operations. Attends Pre-Construction (Pre-Con) meetings and Plant Safety Meetings, performs pre-delivery job site inspections and responds to job site delivery issues to facilitate safe and efficient delivery as required. Attends and mentors local safety committees. Facilitates communication between all three product lines, asphalt & construction, readymix, and aggregates daily. Provide OSHA safety orientation training, and MSHA Part-46 training with all new hires.  In addition, the position is responsible for assisting with training of current employees with our Guardian Angel Safety culture as established. Conduct facility audits for safety, OSHA, MSHA, and DOT sites. Reviews & communicates injury & liability loss trends and root cause analysis to their assigned operations groups.



    • Analyze, Prioritize and actively engage with solutions of safety issues/trends. Respond and manage activities appropriately to effectively implement safety programs
    • Assist in performing pre-delivery job site inspections to identify and resolve potential high risk safety issues and/or hindrances to safe delivery
    • Frequent visits to local job-sites with both asphalt & readymix sites, and work closely with subcontractors, external customers
    • Respond to complaints of safety hazards at existing job sites to address issues mentioned above
    • Prepares monthly safety topics for daily tailgate meetings
    • Make recommendations for changes to new hire curriculum when necessary
    • Conduct Facility Audits for compliance to OSHA and MSHA Standards
    • Attends plant safety meetings to ensure content is relevant and useful
    • Assist in incident investigations for root cause analysis
    • Works closely with local medical clinics for appropriate injury management and workers compensation claims
    • Coordinates and assists with annual hearing exams, and IH testing
    • Track Area incident trends and make recommendations to management to reduce exposure
    • Provide training to current workforce, ensuring that Safety standards are understood
    • Perform all other related duties as assigned by Regional Safety Manager


    Minimum Education and Experience

    • Associates in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent experience
    • Equivalent of 3-5 years, extensive experience in safety function
    • ASP, OHST, or CHST certifications preferred
    • Good knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926, MSHA Part-46,  FMCSA (DOT) Regulations

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Be able to communicate in a professional manner across all employee and management positions
    • Good presentation skills for formal meetings. Both with hourly and management employees
    • Possess strong skills at prioritizing activities.
    • Assertive, can do and persuasive personality
    • PC literate
    • Work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to train others on the safety standards
    • Ability to work closely with local MSHA, OSHA agencies

    Physical Requirements


    Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting (must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to 8 hours), walking, climbing stairs, bending and stooping, and the ability to drive.


    Working Conditions


    Most time is work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry.  May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc. Periodic, overnight stay away from home.
