    Position Summary

     

    While managing with a safety-first style, this position will oversee planning and coordinating of daily mining activities.  This will include operational activities such as pit and/or plant production (processing plant), plant maintenance, and mobile equipment at Riverbend Sand and Gravel. Responsible for demonstrating and leading our safety culture, training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforce. Successfully implement the company's safety and environmental processes. Successfully lead and manage to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics. Assist in the development of the annual budget and production planning. Other duties as assigned. This positions supports the plant manager in managing the culture and operation.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Must have and demonstrate a personal and passionate safety culture and drive in all they do
    • Construction Management, Mining Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred
    • 2 or more years' experience in aggregate operations with understanding of mineral processing equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated mobile equipment required
    • Minimum 1+ year supervisory experience in a mining environment preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Proficient on PC to include MS Office suite or other similar a plus
    • Experience with drilling, blasting, inventory control, and customer service preferred
    • Ability to work flexible schedule, when needed; including weekends
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and background check
    • Have strong time management skills, the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks
    • Must understand the preventive maintenance that must be performed to minimize unplanned downtime
    • Possess oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Maintain First Aid certification and CPR certification
    • Produce a high quality and consistent product to the subsequent plant or end customer
    • Responsible for knowing and understanding all laws, policies, and regulations that affect our operations
    • Maintain a daily journal to document the events and discussions that effect each days’ safety and productivity
    • Implement change in the work place in a timely manner by using all available resources
    • The foreman will understand the metrics with which we measure success and be able to plan the work flow on a daily and weekly basis to ensure the site is successful at accomplishing its goals
