    Position Summary

     

    The Financial Accountant provides financial accounting, analyses and close support to the District Finance Manager and Operations. This position’s responsibilities include closing, budgeting, and operational support for the district. Providing identification, execution and training support to implement best practices.

    Requirements

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the financial cycle for the district (financial closings- monthly, quarterly, annually)
    • Sustain operational budget/forecast process and variance analysis with Excel modeling
    • General Ledger review and monthly reconciliation reviews.
    • Assist finance/operations in compiling and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • Provide support for maintenance of CAPEX requests and reporting
    • Perform standard and ad hoc analyses for management
    • Assist operations personnel to track, record and reconcile daily plant performance & production
    • Assist with audit and compliance request, document procedures and controls
    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
    • Assist operations in inventory analysis and physical inventory counts

    Results/Accountabilities

    • Acquire strong knowledge of the business
    • Document financial/business issues for improvement opportunities
    • Timely and accurate monthly management reporting
    • Compliance with policies and procedures
    • Consistency of accounting/statutory reporting and product line reporting
    • Design management reporting for sustainabilityProcess improvement projects delivered within management goals and guideline
    • Review agreements and contracts for financial implications
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Acquire strong knowledge of the business

    • Minimum Education and Experience

    • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
    • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
    • 3-5 years of finance/accounting experience (manufacturing environment a plus)
    • Prior inventory experience preferred
    • Enterprise system experience (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP)Excellent oral and written skills
    • Experience supervising professional and clerical staff
    • Capable of managing multiple tasks: time management, planning, and organizational skills

    Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

    • Peer relationships within the Ready Mix District as key point of contact for financial matters.
    • Interaction with Division and Corporate support staff
    • Interaction with Finance personnel across company to drive improvements in processes, reporting and analyses.
    • Supervision of Office Managers
    • Strong dotted line to District Vice President/GM

    • Peer relationships within the Ready Mix District as key point of contact for financial matters.
    • Self-motivated; Able to work in a team environment

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills- verbal and written

    • Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis

    • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
