     Position Summary

    This position works with District sales and operations management to provide data analysis and reporting in support of the District’s financial and operational objectives. The team will look to the Business Analyst to help establish and streamline policies and procedures throughout the department in addition to supporting best practices in sales forecasting, reporting, and communications.

    As the Business Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the Division success by:

    i) researching, organizing, and analyzing business data;

    ii) providing managers with timely and actionable business information, including regular reporting and frequent custom analyses;

    iii) performing complex operational modeling on a range of business issues

    iv) serving as a systems expert and key point of contact for analytics and reporting.

     

    Ultimately, the position is relied upon as the main resource for operational data and analysis across the business.

     Ideal candidates will have Business Analysis experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and fun environment.

    Primary Responsibilities

    The position has a range of responsibilities including the following:

    • Develops, manages, and executes a wide variety of critical monthly reports and analyzes to support the Sales and Operations managers.
    • Analysis and Reporting topics include financial performance, sales backlog and forecast, key performance indicators (DSO, Credit & Corrections, win/loss, market growth), ASP and volume variance, and production efficiency, among others.
    • Leads a portion of the Quintiq Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) effort in the Rocky Mountain Division. This is a long-term, complex, and highly dynamic process that will inform our vertical integration strategies along the Front Range.
    • Facilitates dialogue with the sales, operational, and management teams of each product line in the Division to collect and consolidate sales/production forecast information to be fed into Quintiq and Aggregate Supply/Demand modeling.
    • Maintains the Product Codes and Price Book
    • Administers Salesforce.com (SFDC) for the District and participates on the company’s SFDC users committee.
    • Develops and manages reports and dashboards in Salesforce.com ensuring sales reps and leaders have access to key data required to successfully manage the business.
    • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and external intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
    • Supports the annual budgeting process by providing managers with information required to develop financial and operational forecasts. Analyzes trends and other factors affecting business performance.
    • Performs custom, and often complex, analyses at the request of management. These requests require a strong knowledge of the business, along with the systems expertise required to obtain the needed information.

    • Enjoys using problem-solving, business analysis, and database skills to provide insight into business issues under moderate guidance. Takes initiative to provide creative solutions when presented with an operational or systems question, issue, or request.

    • Maintains advanced skills in SalesForce.com, Seltec, Microsoft Office Suite, mPower, JDE, Kronos and other internal systems wherever data can be extracted. Frequently combines information from multiple sources into a consolidated format for analysis and decision-making.

    Time Allocation

    The position’s approximate time allocated to types of work is 80% for data analysis and reporting, 15% for Quintiq S&OP, and 5% for sales team support.

     

    Qualifications

    • Experience working in either sales, business development, or operations.
    • Proven ability to analyze complex processes, represent them in a simple way, and suggest improvements
    • Superior communication skills; able to clearly communicate and present findings and recommendations to team members and senior management
    • Results oriented, will take ownership and proactively drive projects and change management through to completion.
    • Quantitative and general problem solving skills; superior critical thinking
    • Strong interpersonal skills and team player
    • Strong systems experience with Kronos, Salesforce.com (SFDC), JDE, and TM1.
    • High degree of motivation, flexibility and creativity
    • Advanced Visio, Excel, Tableau and PowerPoint skills

     

    Requirements

    • 3-plus years in a Business Analyst or similar role
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing or related degree.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
