    Work with various levels of management and hourly employees to meet the services required by Operations across the company. Coordinate resources to manage priority, cost and quality of all work requirements, while assuring safety and communication throughout the process. Provide reports and oversee requisition and task management responsibilities to enable efficiency in all aspects of Work Order management. Supervise hourly shop employees to meet all Work Order, Facility, Repair and Maintenance requirements needed by the local Business Unit for smooth and continuous operation. Work toward continuous improvement of all facets of the business for sustainability and growth.




    • Have experience and working knowledge of machine shop, welding shop, hydraulic shop, and assembly shop procedures
    • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees related to the movement, repair, and maintenance of all mobile and applicable stationary equipment
    • Oversees the maintenance, repair, overhauling and rebuilding of all heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, pumps, cranes, and other standard or specialized gasoline, diesel, and electrically operated equipment
    • Diagnoses difficult problems and recommends repairs; inspects, tests, and adjusts equipment when required; supervises office work such as stores, payroll, personnel, and accounts
    • Provide Safety leadership by attending/conducting meetings, ensuring appropriate safety discussions are held, and mentoring employees. Ensures 100% employee participation in all safety initiatives and programs
    • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques. Completes annual reviews and ensures weekly timecards are accurate and processed
    • Responsible for the operation, coordination, and quality control of a repair facility
    • Participates in annual budget planning and manages costs within approved budgets




    • Bachelor's degree in pertinent field preferred; consider equivalent relative work experience in lieu of degree

    • 5+ years' shop management experience





    • Ability to work 6:00am - 6:00pm, 5 days a week, with occassional weekends
    • Considerable knowledge of the organization and operations of the work area; extensive knowledge of the instructions, guidelines, practices, procedures, and terminology of the aggregate processing and heavy equipment industry

    • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

    • Possess good people skills and be capable of developing and maintaining positive relationships

    • Excellent computer skills required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with SQL databases (JD Edwards/One World/SAP/Oracle), computer generated work orders, purchase orders, SOS sample archiving, online parts look-up, and navigation of dealer supplied reference materials, preferred

    • Ability to read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and reference manuals
