Position Summary


Duties include month-end accounting close, account reconciliations, reporting, analytics, budgeting and forecasting, physical inventory reconciliation, and accounts payable management. Act and operate independently with minimal direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Work cooperatively and collaboratively will all levels of employees and management to maximize performance, problem solving, and results. Safeguard company assets and conduct all business in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Position reports to the District/Regional Finance Manager.



  • Manage the financial cycle for the district (financial closings and reporting - monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Timely and accurate monthly management reporting
  • Effective flagging of business issues based on financial analysis
  • Perform timely and accurate monthly standard and ad hoc analysis for management to support key business decisions
  • Compile, analyze and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial performance
  • Assemble monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts
  • Provide support for CAPEX requests and justification
  • Provide guidance and perform audits to ensure the district internal controls, policies, and procedures are in place and effective
  • Perform training when needed to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Work closely with sales and production personnel regarding purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and various performance metrics
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit to supply information timely
  • Acquire strong knowledge of the business
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, continuous improvement, and teamwork including local and corporate staff
  • Manage, mentor and develop direct reports (if applicable)
  • Strong dotted line to District VP/GM and Division Controller

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional designation desired or working towards (MBA, CPA or CMA)
  • 3+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, mining or construction materials preferred

  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; experience with JD Edwards, Cognos, Command, Seltec, Docuware, TM1 a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills as the position will operate heavily within Excel
