    Position Summary


    Responsible for management and P&L of the Northeast Texas Ready Mix district. Formulates and Executes business strategy, business plan, and provides leadership while maximizing profitability and optimization of all organizational resources within the assigned market area. Areas of responsibility include safety, sales, marketing, operations, logistics, materials performance, land management, and environmental compliance. Pro-actively engages the support of functional leaders and others to secure the long-term growth vision for the market area. Ensures all products and services that touch the customer meet Martin Marietta’s world class standards and are provided in the most efficient and hassle-free manner. Upholds all company commitments, policies and standards and cultivates a culture that holds health and safety as a core value.


    Additional Duties

    • Accountable for managing a world class safety program with world class results, obtaining optimum business efficiency and maximizing profits
    • Provides overall direction to operations and sales in assigned district.  Ensures all department programs, policies and procedures are in compliance with the division and company objectives 
    • Manages all costs and the capital budget associated with the assigned area.
    • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations


    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or other related field of study; significant direct experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree. MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years management experience in construction materials industry or similar; significant ready mix experience strongly preferred.
    • Possess strong general knowledge of construction and comprehensive knowledge of the ready mix business. Must have the business acumen to properly assess the market, competition and business opportunities
    • Excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate others and provide timely, direct and actionable feedback
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), both one-on-one and in group settings within and outside the organization
    • Strong sales/customer service and market development skills, and the ability to lead and generate strategic operating analyses
    • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner sometimes under tight deadlines and pressure
    • Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
