The Business Applications Manager (BAM) will work under the direction of the Sr ERP Solutions Manager and will be part of the Enterprise Applications strategy, delivery and support excellence team.  This individual will be a key liaison between different IS teams within ERP Solutions and with other IS teams, such as Midlleware, BI, Web/Mobile, Infrastructure, DBA, Audit, etc.   This individual will be participating and leading the design, implementation and support around the JDE CNC functions, JDE/QSfot security functions, Testing (OATS) and Training (UPK) functions. The primary focus of this role is to manage the stability and integrity of the systems and solutions, via governing the SDLC process and managing the enterprise environments.  BAM is also responsible to bring the teams together and make sure the solutions designed and developed address the current and future needs of the business partners. Based on a wide range of experience and industry research help, provide short and long term direction in designing solutions, JDE Security, JDE architecture and automated testing.  Partnering with stakeholders to achieve sustainable productivity through a collaborative and consultative approach. Work with other managers and team members in other IS and business functional areas, such as BPOs, DBAs, Developers, Network and Sys Admins, to support the successful development and deployment of the solution.

 

The role requires both broad and deep knowledge of the JDE architecture, JDE security and JDE functional modules and the ability to architect solutions by mapping customer business problems to reusable end-to-end business application solutions. The BAM will engage in senior level business decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and business processes. He or she has a passion for the business which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the business experience. To be successful, he or she must have proven experience managing JDE Techno-Functional environment, projects and/or managing work streams within the projects through the entire project lifecycle. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management.

The successful candidate should have a Bachelors Degree with a deep understanding of JDE/E1, QSoft and OATS. Should be able to learn new technical tools and adapt to the Martin SDLC processes. Higher relevant education preferred. Position requires extensive relevant working experience including expertise in business solutions deployment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Business Applications Manager (BAM) is responsible to manage the staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  • The BAM will be the key individual who understands the ERP environment, solution and the domain/ industry well. BAM also needs to be the subject matter expert in understanding the customer's requirements and is able to suggest alternatives to better the solution and alleviate the challenge/ issue being addressed
  • You will be responsible for the availability and stability of the JDE technical environments (CNC, Security & Development), working with all the other application, Integration, DBA and infrastructure teams
  • You will be responsible to manage, scope and deliver projects, in the areas responsible for, such as JDE tools upgrade, QSoft upgrade, Vertex upgrade, TIDAL upgrade, etc.
  • You will be responsible to manage the Martin SDLC process, documentation and maintain the quality of the solution and the integrity of the Martin application environments
  • You will be responsible to design and execute the integrated testing, automated testing and end-to-end testing for all major cross-functional projects
  • You will be responsible to coordinate and support the SOX/Audit requirements around the Enterprise applications portfolio
  • Work with multiple vendors and manage the technical resources both on-shore and off-shore
  • BAM will take the role of a consultant during the early phases of the solution, in terms of scoping the project, gathering requirements and working with the team to put together a solutions document
  • You need to be a leader who can efficiently lead a team of solution architects, business analysts, developers, and consultants and effectively work with other business units in the company in the creation of the solution
  • You should be able to work with your customer (business partners and other IS teams) and help them envision the solution value, and how it will benefit them in the longer term

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong managerial experience, with resources and team members both on-shore and off-shore
  • Expert knowledge of JDE E1 architecture and system configuration standards
  • Expert knowledge of JDE CNC functions and JDE security
  • Experience in specifying and supporting Interfaces between external Legacy systems and JDE E1 applications
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Expert knowledge different testing methodologies
  • Experience with OATS (Oracle Application Testing Suite) and UPK (User Productivity Kit)
  • Good understanding of end-to-end business processes and JDE functional modules
  • Very good understanding of SOX and Audit requirements and processes in general
  • Solid business and JDE consulting background is required
  • At least 7 years in JDE Packages consulting /solution architecture experience
  • At least 5+ years of exposure to end to end Business processes
  • A self–starter able to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong customer orientation – Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization to obtain, analyze, and discuss business requirements and technical solutions
  • Excellent communication / presentation / verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to drive business discussions independently and act as trusted advisor
  • Strong Ability to develop / groom a team for Projects and work in an onsite-offshore team environment - sharing ideas and working collaboratively
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
