Position Summary

 

We are seeking a Capital Budgets Analyst to work from our corporate office in Raleigh, NC, as a member of the cross-functional Capital Budgets and Fixed Assets team. This individual will perform various responsibilities related to the capital to fixed assets life cycle.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to internal customers (e.g. Operations, Engineering, Fixed Asset Accounting, Tax, etc.)
  • Processing timely and accurate transactions around capital job set-up and asset recording within various systems, including the Company's ERP system (JD Edwards)
  • Applying the company's capital policy and providing, well-versed timely guidance to personnel when necessary
  • Analyzing/vetting of capital spending throughout an asset's life cycle
  • Review of workflows related to asset status changes and performing follow-up when necessary
  • Frequent communication with internal customers to gather information and gain an understanding of the capital job or accounting treatment of transactions
  • Providing suggestions for process improvements, which focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation
  • Creating and/or maintaining assigned process documents, flow charts and job aids
  • Providing training to new Capital Budgets Analysts
  • Involvement in special projects and ad hoc analysis
  • Providing support related to audit requests
  • Participating in occasional plant site visits

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a financial setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or similar spreadsheet tools
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Able to multi-task and problem solve
  • Ability to travel on occasion (<5%)

Preferred:

  • Work experience in a capital and/or fixed assets role
  • Understanding of accounting principles related to the capital to fixed assets life cycle
  • Experienced in data analytics/mining
  • Skilled with an ERP system
