We are seeking a Systems Administration Manager at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. In this technical management role you will be responsible for overseeing the Systems Administration team including budgeting, recruiting, and managing staff. In addition, this position will also establish, maintain, and monitor strategic directions for various critical parts of Martin Marietta’s Information Services Infrastructure, including oversight of multiple data centers or external parties engaged for this purpose.

 

Requirements

  • Manage, develop, and provide leadership, including technical leadership, for technical staff that compose the Systems Administration team
  • Oversee financial management of procurement and vendor relations for various IS products and services and parts of the annual capital and operational budget process.
  • Ensure that the Systems Administration team is compliant with policies, procedures, and applicable audit standards, such as SOX and PCI.
  • Responsible for maintenance of systems, reporting and forecasting system use, and development, maintenance, and testing of disaster recovery solutions and procedures.
  • Monitor systems to ensure their availability and uptime meet SLAs.
  • Manage the resolution of production issues, including performance issues.
  • Manage a suite of backup and recovery systems.
  • Manage projects (scheduling, planning, and design), provide technical/hands-on skills as needed for trouble-shooting and implementation, and perform QA of documentation and systems.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of experience managing systems administration teams in an enterprise-class Microsoft Windows environment

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive hands-on experience with at least several of the following core technologies in an enterprise setting: contemporary versions of the Windows Server Operating System with PowerShell and with ancillary services such as clustering, Active Directory, and DFS; storage area networks including flash-based SANs; VMWare; Microsoft Exchange; backup technologies; and data center operations
  • Project management experience
  • Vendor management
  • A working understanding of enterprise finance, purchasing, and budgeting practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able and willing to work after hours and on weekends as required
