Position Summary

 

Supervise and coordinate quarry operation, plant operation and maintenance for a 1.5 to 2.0 MMTPY marine limestone quarry, in the greater Charleston, SC area.

 

Requirements

  • Responsible for training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforce.
  • Successfully implement the Company's safety and environmental processes.
  • Successfully lead and manage to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as required; including nights and weekends along with a willingness and the flexibility to work other shifts, when necessary

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in mining or construction industry
  • 3 years in a supervisory/ leadership position
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understands accountability; proven strong leadership skills and a track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate and manage multiple tasks with strong planning skills
  • Working knowledge of mobile equipment, crushing and conveyor equipment, and quality control in aggregate production.
  • Experience in dragline wet mining applications would be a definite plus.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose production and maintenance problems.
  • Project management and installation experience; capital project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to interact effectively with internal and external (i.e. employees, vendors and contractors) individuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; JDE experience a plus.
  • Experience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferred.
