Position Summary:

 

The Aggregate Accountant provides financial accounting, analyses and support to the District Finance Manager and Operational Personnel. This position works to improve the day to day financial processes of the Aggregate district. 

 

Key Responsibilities    

  • Support for Annual Plan, Monthly Forecasts and Variance Reporting
  • Perform standard and ad hoc analyses for management
  • Provide analysis to support key business decisions
  • Production of monthly reporting used in analysis of financial performance
  • Work closely with sales and production personnel regarding purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and various performance metrics
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
  • Perform audits of locations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance to ensure internal controls are in place and effective

  • Acquire strong knowledge of the business
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
  • Consistency of accounting/statutory reporting and product line reporting
  • Timely and accurate monthly management reporting

 

Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

  • Interaction within operational, clerical and managerial personnel
  • Interaction with local and Corporate staff
  • Cross-train and back-up other functions within the Aggregates District 

 

Qualification Profile:

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2 or more years of finance/accounting experience
  • Professional designation preferred (CPA or CMA)

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Cognos, Tableau, TM1 a plus
  • GAAP knowledge
