Position Summary

 

The District Financial Manager provides financial accounting, analyses and decision support to the District Management team. This position works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results. Identification and implementation of best practices comprise a key component

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial cycle for the district (financial closings- monthly, quarterly, annually)

  • Assemble budgets and forecasts

  • Provide support for CAPEX requests and justification

  • Perform standard and ad hoc analyses for management

  • Provide analysis to support key business decisions

  • Production of monthly reporting

  • Compile, analyze and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Work with plant personnel to track, record and reconcile daily plant performance and production

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas

  • Manage, mentor and develop direct reports

  • Provide guidance to ensure the district internal controls are in place and effective

 Results/Accountabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience required
  • CPA or CMA certification desired
  • 5-7 years of finance /accounting experience, preferably in the aggregates industry; experience supervising professional and clerical staff

 

Relationships with Others' Jobs

  • Peer relationships within the Division as key point of contact for financial matters.
  • Interaction with Division and Corporate support staff
  • Interaction with Finance Managers across company to drive improvements in processes, reporting and analyses
  • Supervision of Office Manager and Sales Auditor
  • Strong dotted line to District Vice President/GM

Qualification Profile

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Professional designation desired or working towards (MBA, CPA or CMA)
  • 5-7 years of finance/accounting experience
  • Experience supervising professional and clerical staff
  • Construction materials experience a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills- verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability in financial/busines analysis
  • Product Line knowledge preferred
  • Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequesnces and trends accurately
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • GAAP knowledge
